Baltimore Oriole Nest?

Mick found this nest -must have blown down from the tree. It was hard to photograph -it is kind of a droopy bowl shape like a Baltimore Oriole which we see sometimes in early summer. It's made with seeds of the cottonwood tree deep down in the bottom. The sad thing is to see some of the other things used in the building of the nest- the green strips which I don't know what they are and some fishing line!

Awwww...poor little guys. It's so pretty though. Always interesting what birds put into their nest building. So pretty, Marge.

It is still a very beautiful nest.
I had the horror of finding a small nest full of dead young that used cigarette filters in the nest. I get very angry when people toss their cigarettes and take a stand. I guess I prefer my feathered friends.

I so agree with you Doris- I hate seeing cigarette butts. They must think they're too insignificant to worry about putting in the trash!
