Pink Geraniums in Watering Can

I finished this painting in Lenox Wallace's class at the Center. It's from a picture taken at Judy's in Frankfort where we visit every summer in our Plein Aire class

Christmas-Birthday Celebration at the Greystone Inn

Mom planned her 90th birthday celebration as a gathering for us at the Greystone Inn which is an hour from her home in N. Carolina. The picture above is of my sister Anne, Mom, Betsy, my twin sister and me on the gorgeous front porch at the inn.

Vacation at the Greystone Inn

Greystone Inn is in Lake Toxaway in North Carolina and we spent a few days there celebrating Mom's 90th birthday. My sisters, Betsy and Anne and I and husbands joined Mom and had a wonderful time playing our 'Hearts" card game in the evenings and took a boat ride on the fourteen mile man-made lake. The Inn has quite an interesting history.

White on White collage

This is another collage I finished in April's class and as with the previous one, we used the tack iron which is very neat! It's done on an 8x8 stretched canvas. This is currently in the White on White collage exhibit at the Union Street Gallery in Chicago Heights which is a beautiful three story gallery with artist's studios on the third floor.

New Collages

This was a collage I created in April's class at the Center, the theme being women in literature. It's done on heavy watercolor paper and has the shells attached with fine wire. The book is Gift From the Sea by Anne Morrow Lindbergh. The theme of the February retreat at the Center is Gift from the Sea which I'm helping with by creating the handmade book everyone will make.

Published in Sommerset Studio Magazine

Most all of my collage friends know by now...my submitted piece is in the Jan/Feb issue of Sommerset Studio on page 22 with the Lively Art of Lettering article. I was so surprised and delighted to find out as the letter they sent didn't say when or where it would be used.
