Nine-patch quilt I'd been working on

This little quilt also needs finishing. I'd started it when Mandy was little and decided it wasn't quite what she would want. It's the size of a baby quilt, so I'll finish it with that in mind maybe some rainy day...

Hand knit bedspread

My mother got out this beautiful bedspread was knitted by her mother, my Grandmother who died before my Mother was married. She said she never remembered her mother working on it. It's in very good condition. When we looked closely, the pattern is quite detailed and you can't even see where the squares are sewn together. We assumed it was done in squares and connected later.

Finishing my Quilt!

I recently got the quilting bug when Mandy had the idea to make a quilt in her time off after giving up her job. I'd started this Log Cabin quilt in a class in Storm Lake, Iowa years and years ago. I'd hand quilted the whole quilt except the wide blue border. So after visiting a quilt shop in town I'm finishing that part and will get to the border with their help. I saved the fabric knowing that someday I would finish the quilt!

Interesting Picture from an Art Gallery

This photo is from the new art building from my college that we visited in October. I'm not sure what materials these were made of but such interesting shapes colors and forms. Reminded me of Laura's paper making! I wish I knew more about them but just had to share.

Family Gathering

This is the photo, from Thanksgiving, I debated on whether to use for our Christmas card! I love this family picture and now it's even more special after Marsh and Emily got engaged just before the New Year! We went to Grand Rapids to spend our Christmas with them. Toby the doxy and Yasmine the Lab have such a great time with each other and of course now there's Iris the kitty!
