New Book for Class

This is just the cover. The inside is a series of pages that unfold almost like an accordian fold book. I found some old gestural marks from a class that was perfect for the cover!

Next Step

Adding More to Illuminated Piece

I added some shading to the title, and worked on the details of outlining. You can see the gold in the next photo.
I still have decisions to make on the first word of the title- "Anniversary" but I think I'm going to do it in blue, and the long column under the 75- a blue wash or gold.

Colored Pencil work

At our Calligraphy study group Linda shared her colored pencil knowledge and this black piece is interesting! I forgot to take a photo of our trial pieces but may post that later.

The next photo shows a type of colored pencil that is "solid colored pencil"

Colored Pencil Piece by Don N

This is a piece I "won" at our study group when Don gave some of his work away. I am honored to have one of his masterpieces! He has since joined the angels.

Large Work

Finally made decisions on colors, mixed the colors and began the painting process! Still have to finish the lettering at top and bottom but just needed to get some color down first.
The leaves will be blue and green and the tiny flowers kind of a violet. Some gold will be repeated in the flowers or small leaves too.

Got a photo of our dinner- Quinoa toss with Chickpeas and beets on left. And Vegetarian Chili. The quinoa was awesome and it's so healthy for you!
Creme' Brule for desert!

Collage Class Continuing

In one of the photos, things are just placed -not sure where they would end up. The second one shows them in place with the tack iron and more detail to the background.

Added a little wash of color to the gate on the last photo.
