New Workshop with Denis Brown!

Sunday starts the 3 day Celtic Art workshop at the Irish Heritage Center in Chicago with Denis Brown. They were afraid he wouldn't make the flight from Ireland with the volcano problems, but I heard it's a go. Hope to have photos to post later! Tomorrow is also his workshop where 50 have signed up, beginners as well as intermediate students. Fun fun fun!

Toby, the Daschund, found friends in the pool!

Mandy's dog spotted these ducks in the pool! They've been returning every morning! He scared them away the first time, but I've convinced Toby not to bark at them- too much.

Time for my Trip to N. Carolina

Every year I fly down for a week during my sister's Spring Break to visit with her and my Mom. Hope the weather is nice, although they say it's been in the 70's, it's cooler than usual. Wish I could have finished my painting of Betsy's garden shed, but it will be waiting for me when I get back.

Collage & Calligraphy Exhibit in Chicago

I'm finally working on a new collage! My last one is in the Newberry Library Calligraphy Exhibit downtown Chicago that just opened.

We used to always visit the Pearl Artstore when we went, but it CLOSED! Bummer!!!! But the Paper and Arts store is still open so we can at least go there, Oh and the Newberry has a wonderful little Book Store too that has some neat papers, etc.

Sister's Garden Shed in NCarolina

Last week I started a painting that I've been wanting to do mainly because the photograph was so wonderful with the light shining through the trees and the shadows laying across the front of the new shed. And I love the colors too; all the different greens and the pale yellow and the whites from the reflections of the sun.
