Journal Cover

I started by using some molding paste and added some texture first. Then used purple and green paint and then added the green napkins. I wasn't really happy with the pastel colors but knew I could add more and cover the parts I didn't like. So I used some darker colors, glued on the handpainted tissue paper that happened to be in the same colors and then added the square "inchie" to finish it off.

Make Your Mark Jounal Pages

A few more pages done. They are due into the LaGrange Art League on Saturday and will be in a show with many others.

Ducks out for a walk

Somehow these photos are so blurry, must have had the wrong setting. But they were so cute on their walk in the rain.

Teenie Tiny Katydid

I think this was a Katydid. He crawled all over the daylily and was the first one I'd seen so small.

Weathered gray wood deck- make beautiful Frames!

We helped my son and his wife dismantle the old deck to get ready to build the new one. I suddenly invisioned what neat frames the weathered gray "spindles" would make. See last photo!

Now just have to decide what to put in it, what to back it with among other things. I love the colors of the wood!

Little Wren in the Birdhouse

I'm so glad I got up early and enjoyed the wren for a long time this morning. He sings and sings and today "he" was in and out of the birdhouse-who knows if there is a nest or not! But he's been there every day.

He sits on the branch outside of the house and sings. Even let me take his photo outside when I was watering even though it's not the best view.

Like the little bottle with the metal washer eyes below him!

Copperplate Envelopes almost finished

Last Weeks Sketch Class

Still need to add the dark contrasting details. I've been doing pen and ink so this was the first for the watercolor composition.

Collage Workshop-Recipe Collage

April taught a workshop where we used handwritten recipes so I found a Bran Muffin recipe in my Mom's handwriting. I'm not sure if it's finished -may need another french word (or italian?) Maybe I shouldn't have added the dark lettering right in the middle. Haven't put down the word on the right yet either. One means eat and the other?

Garden Bird Bath

My little rustic bird bath-but loved the way the sun shone through the blue glass!

Honorable Mention at a collage exhibit

The Midwest Collage Society is having a show in St. Charles at the Norris Gallery (part of the Norris H. School) til July 29th. I was one of three Honorable Mention awards with this collage. Not the best photo- I used lots of textured papers in the background as well as some gestural writing papers from a class with Georgia Deaver (partiallly covered up with the tree)

Lots of Sightseeing with my sister

This is a garden in Lockport- all inclosed by a stone wall.

Then on to Naperville to see "The Growing Place. They have little gardens all planted- a shade garden and sunny garden decorated with antiques and iron work ornaments. My sister is an avid gardener and also has lots of decorative ironwork in her N. Carolina garden.
